CLO #4

“develop and engage in the collaborative and social aspects of writing processes”

I think out of all the course learning outcomes, this was the most practiced in class. The entire class was separated into six or seven groups, and we worked together with those group members for the rest of the semester. My group was very friendly and we contacted each other regularly through the class discord, often discussing assignments and collaborating on voice channels. In person, we would brainstorm ideas together, specifically for our engineering proposal, and during peer review sessions we would put our work up on the board and give each person feedback on what they could improve on, as well as what they’ve already done well. On Blackboard discussions, we would comment on feedback on each other’s posts, as groups and as individuals. I improved my teamwork skills and learned how to collaborate and socialize effectively in group work. Figure 1 shows some comments my group received on our original Lab Report topic, which shows the social aspect of the course learning outcome.
